The Life Raft 'Deep Relax' Yoga & Pilates Retreat
Sunny Spain 2018

'The most relaxing retreat... ever?'

Are you craving the chance to totally switch off from all the busyness & pressures of everyday life and immerse yourself in a week of total relaxation & 'You Time'?

Is your body telling you it desperately needs a proper break? A chance to rebalance, rejuvenate and recharge yourself?

Would you like the chance to completely focus on your health - exercising in the sun, eating healthy food and taking things s.l.o.w.l.y in beautiful surroundings?

This was a very special week which enabled personal growth in a warm and supportive way. With sunshine and lots of laughs enjoyed I feel very relaxed and energised. Thank you all for your hard work to make this a success. Looking forward to next year!

What happens on this retreat?

Well, a typical day might go something like this... If you're an 'earlybird', after waking to the bright sunlight streaming into your room & hearing the birds chirping in the lush gardens outside you might decide to go for a jog or have a stretch followed by a dip in the pool. You might join some of your fellow guests for a morning meditation class. Alternatively, you might just prefer a well-deserved lie-in - this is YOUR time so the choice is yours. After breakfast on the sun-soaked patio you could take a stroll into the town, read by the pool or attend one of the morning yoga classes, pilates classes or mindfulness mini-workshops followed by a sauna or another refreshing dip.

Meal times are a great time to socialise on our retreats so after a good chat over a healthy lunch you might then decide to continue your conversations in the super-size hot tub. Alternatively you might just decide on more sunbathing or reading and relaxing by the pool. Afternoon classes are typically much slower and offer a wealth of relaxing techniques for you to try but again, you are free to do as you choose. You might take a trip to the beach, or a trek in the nearby hills & gorges. Alternatively, you might choose to treat yourself to a session with one of our on-site massage/reflexology therapists.

As the sun goes down and the outside lights come on, the finca takes on a charm all of its own and the terrace becomes the perfect venue for a delightful alfresco evening meal.  After dinner you can retire early, play cards in the main house, chat, read or use any of the outdoor faciliates such as the sauna or hot tub before the final group activity of the day; evening meditation.

The emphasis on this retreat is TOTAL relaxation - however that works for you. The aim is for you to learn new skills whilst enjoying a deeply relaxing break from all the stress and strain of everyday life.

Why should you come?

Most of us live incredibly busy lives. We barely give ourselves time to think these days let alone to really slow down and get in touch with oursleves.

We go through life promising ourselves that 'one day, eventually, once we've got through this current busy period'... we'll finally slow down and take the time we need to take stock, rebalance, replenish and rejuvenate ourselves.

Sadly, as we all know, unless we make a concerted effort that special time never comes. We just get swept along with the million and one things we need to do just to stand still.

This is why retreats are so important. It's also why people find them so transformative. Giving yourself the time and space to fully recharge & connect with yourself is one of the healthiest things you can do. This retreat isn't just about relaxing and learning techniques to make your life healthier and happier though. On a deeper level it's about giving yourself the chance, perhaps for the fist time in your life, to really listen to yourself.  This is something few of us allow ourselves to do and yet it can be absolutely life changing.  With that said, don't be surprised if this retreat leads to some rather profound realisations and breakthroughs. ;-)

Who is it for?

In short ANYONE & EVERYONE can benefit from some relaxing time to themselves and you don't need to know anything about yoga or pilates to join us on this retreat. If you're a busy mum, a stressed businessman, a teacher, a baker or even a candlestick maker (we didn't include butchers in that list as it's a vegetarian/pescatarian event), we're sure you'll find this the most relaxing & beneficial holiday you've ever had.

Where is it held?

The retreat takes place at a beautiful secluded finca, north of Malaga, just 20 minutes from Malaga airport. There are relaxing gardens, 'chill out' and play areas, acres of fruit orchards, plus an ecological vegetable patch providing fresh organic food at your doorstep. A range of charming group, couple and single occupancy accommodation is available in the main house and annexes as well as the Mongolian yurt, magical circus caravan and riverside cabins, all with natural furnishings and views of the Cártama hills in the background.

I really enjoyed my experience in Spain. The people were so kind and lovely and it felt like a family; I will never forget them. The food was amazing and there was plenty of it. The finca was extremely spacious with a lovely pool and you could wonder off and have your own space if you wanted to in the many seated areas. I would recommend it to anyone as it was a joyful experience.

Full of charm and character, The Finca is the perfect venue for a relaxing retreat. Situated in the serene beauty of a National Park bordering the Guadalhorce river only 40 minutes from Málaga airport.

The accommodation and facilities were fantastic. Rob, Sally and Jessie are warm, welcoming and have been nurturing without judgment all week. The classes and structure of the week was relaxed yet accommodating to make sure we got the very best of what they each offer. Everything was explained and reasurance offered so if we needed to speak privately after a session they were available to us. Even though I practice mindfulness and have previously done courses I still have learned a great deal about myself and how to improve my practice.

I enjoyed the chance to relax on my own as well as taking part in the meditations, which helped me to relax better. The group of people were nice and easy to get on with making me feel comfortable and welcomed. I was able to be myself.
