Mindful Movement/Mindful Pilates Classes
The purpose of this notice is to make you conscious of the potential risks connected with participation in Mindful Pilates classes and to help you make an informed decision as to whether or not you should participate in them.
These classes are relatively gentle, low impact movement classes, however the potential for injury is present in any form of exercise.
They are particularly unsuitable for you if:
- You are pregnant or have recently given birth (within the last six weeks)
- You have been diagnosed with Osteoporosis or Osteopenia
- You have a joint or back problem which could be made worse with Physical activity
- You have a heart problem or high blood pressure which could be made worse by physical activity
- You suffer from dizziness or blackouts
This list is not exhaustive, if you experience any pain, discomfort or dizziness during the class then stop immediately.
There are also some risks associated with Mindfulness meditation and the Mindful aspects of these classes. The mindfulness activities we provide are not recommended for people currently suffering from psychosis, bi-polar disorder or schizophrenia. If you are currently experiencing mental health concerns, please seek professional help from a licensed psychologist or mental health professional.

Finally, you need to be aware that there are a small minority of people who shouldn’t meditate; typically people who have what are often called ‘diseases of the self’.
If you have, or suspect you may have, a condition such as paranoia or schizophrenia meditation can actually make things worse. So if that’s the case we’re afraid this course won’t be suitable for you.
