I just wanted to say a huge thank you to you. I found the course enlightening, fun, and inspiring. I believed I had some awareness of mindfulness prior to the course but what I realised was that I had built up an anecdotal library and had limited practical knowledge. At the start of the course, (I now realise) I was a broken woman. I had been signed off with work related stress, (I’m a manager with the NHS) was having dreadful panic attacks and simply was not functioning as I should have been but was so long feeling like that I believed that was “normal”. I am now, for the first time in a long time, a person who isn’t carrying a huge burden of stress. I hear music, birdsong, and see nature. I hold conversations with my partner rather than unfocused dialogue while I’ve half an eye on something else.  I can see clearly where I’ve been and also more importantly where I am in this moment. Your style was so kind, gentle and forgiving that I knew that I wouldn’t be judged for being so inflexible. I could ramble on for ages about every single thing I have gained from it, but I will just say Thank You, my life has been turned around and your course created the platform for the changes which I was then able to make. I don’t feel I am exaggerating to say that I feel that I owe you my life and for that I am beyond grateful.

“The benefits to my everyday life since doing the program are just remarkable.”

 Before the program I was experiencing anxiety which just came upon me after a couple of severe migraine attacks.  My sister could see what I was going through having been there herself some years ago and recommended The Life Raft. The benefits to my everyday life since doing the program are just remarkable. I know this will be ongoing as I develop my practice.  I meditate every day and try to be mindful as I go about my daily life. I have my notes which I often refer to, especially my going forward plan which I am following. My husband has noticed how much I have benefitted and he too seems to be more grounded, does that make sense? I can only thank you again Rob from the bottom of my heart. Every week was so fulfilling, and you have a lovely way of putting things into perspective which made every session enjoyable and very rewarding. You are a great teacher Rob.

I work in the NHS so my job is very demanding and with long working long hours. Before the course I was really feeling the pressure and that there wasn’t time to focus on my own wellbeing. Even when not working it was hard to switch off and relax. Since completing the course I have found time each day to mediate which has supported my wellbeing and helped me cope better with the pressures of a demanding job in the NHS. It has helped me move from surviving to thriving.

“I have slowed down & learned how to control anxiety”

Before doing the Quiet Mind course I was always rushing around trying to get everything done. I was a real worrier. I developed anxiety after a couple of severe migraines brought on by stress. This led to anxiety which had a devastating impact on my life.Since completing the course I have slowed down & learned how to control anxiety should it arise and enjoy looking at life from a different perspective. I know the benefits will continue as will my journey!

Before the course I was very anxious and moderate depression from a demanding managerial and teaching role. My mind was constantly spinning.

Now I am much better able to switch off and am using breathing to calm myself. I’m more aware of my mind when it gets busy and more able to bring myself away from the thoughts. This and zendo are part of my return to health and wellbeing and I will definitely use the techniques I've learnt. The online meditation is so good as it does create a sense of connection and energy. Before attending the course I often struggled with stress & anxiety, especially as I am soon to retire & couldn’t find a way of slowing down. Feeling guilt if I didn’t keep myself busy throughout the day.

I suffer from chronic Generalised Anxiety Disorder and associated depression which makes life difficult for both myself and my family at times.

Since completing the course my general demeanour has improved and I feel I now have a way to help myself. Throughout my life I've constantly strived thinking once I'd achieved certain things I could relax. This was a never-ending cycle and when I retired it continued. I then found I couldn't enjoy the freedom I should have had because I could not mentally relax. I was then filling the void in my mind with trivial things. It was a pattern of behaviour which I'd unconsciously developed and realised I no longer wanted or needed. I have learned so much about myself whilst on the course. I feel so much stronger now and no longer controlled by striving thoughts. I can now relax and enjoy my life. I wish I had done this course years ago and would highly recommend to anyone in need of a Life Raft.

“Since completing the course I am amazed at how quickly I can relax.”

I have had issues with anxiety/depression for over 25 years and am always searching for ways to help me cope. This year has been very difficult and had me feeling restless, anxious a lot of the time and always having a racing brain. Since completing the course I am amazed at how quickly I can relax. I've considered meditation before but always dismissed it as something I would never be able to do as my head is always full of thoughts (a lot of them negative). However, over the weeks of the course I have gradually found it easier to switch off and relax. I plan to continue my journey and am very hopeful for a much calmer future.
