Here it isâŚ

Acknowledge Your Thoughts (30 seconds)
- Take a moment to recognize that you are experiencing worry or overthinking.
- Acknowledge your thoughts without judging them or trying to change them.
- Remind yourself that thoughts are just thoughts, and they do not necessarily reflect reality.

Engage Your Senses (1 minute)
- Take a deep breath and shift your focus to your senses.
- Look around and name five things you can see in your surroundings.
- Listen carefully and identify four sounds you can hear.
- Touch three different objects and notice their texture, temperature, and shape.
- Identify two scents you can smell, or imagine two of your favorite scents.
- Finally, focus on one taste, either by taking a sip of a drink or imagining a favorite taste.

Reconnect with the Present  (1 minute)Â
- Take another deep breath and bring your attention back to the present moment.
- Notice how your body feels, focusing on any areas of tension and consciously relaxing them.
- Remind yourself that in this present moment, you are safe and in control.
- If your mind starts to wander back to worries or overthinking, gently redirect your focus to your breath or your surroundings.

Set an Intention (30 seconds)Â
- As you conclude this three-minute technique, set a positive intention for yourself.
- This could be a simple phrase, such as "I choose to focus on the present" or "I am capable of managing my thoughts."
- Take one final deep breath and return to your day with a sense of calm and clarity.
The Three-Minute "Thought Tamer' Technique⢠works by helping you shift your focus from worried thoughts to the present moment, using your senses to anchor you in reality. By engaging with your surroundings and your body, you can interrupt the cycle of overthinking and excessive worry, providing a brief respite and an opportunity to reframe your mindset.
Remember, the more you practice this technique, the more effective it will become. Consider setting aside three minutes each day to practice this exercise, and use it whenever you find yourself getting caught up in worry or overthinking.
